If your people can’t get to work reliably, everything else is a secondary problem. Shift start times slip, agency costs rise, and turnover climbs among exactly the staff who are hardest to replace.

A managed shuttle route fixes the arrival time and takes the commute out of the equation. We run the vehicle, employ the driver, hold the spare, and give you one person to call.

What is an employee shuttle service?

An employee shuttle is a scheduled bus or van route run under contract, moving staff between fixed points on a repeating timetable. It differs from a charter booking because it runs continuously rather than as a one-off trip.

Typical routes connect a park-and-ride or transit stop to a facility, link two sites on one campus, or collect from several residential pickup points on a fixed loop.

Most of our shuttle work falls into three shapes: a single route timed to shift changes, a continuous loop across a working day, or a limited-hours service covering first and third shift when public transport is thinnest.

What does a corporate shuttle cost?

Shuttle routes are priced as contracts rather than per trip. The number is built from the vehicle size, how many hours a day it runs, how many days a week, and the length of the route.

Vehicle size. A 14-passenger van costs less per day than a 34-passenger mini bus, and considerably more per person. Sizing the vehicle to actual ridership rather than headcount is usually where the savings are.

Hours and frequency. A route covering two shift changes costs less than one running continuously for ten hours. Many employers start with shift-change coverage only and extend once ridership settles.

Term. Longer commitments price better, because we can dedicate a vehicle and a driver rather than working around other bookings.

What we need to quote. Facility address, pickup points, headcount and expected ridership, shift times, days per week, and your intended start date. With those six things we can put a proposal together.

What size vehicle do we need for our headcount?

Size to ridership, not to headcount. On most new routes, actual uptake settles between 30% and 60% of the eligible workforce once the timetable is established.

  • Up to 14 riders per run — shuttle van or Sprinter
  • 15 to 27 riders — mini bus
  • 28 to 34 riders — large mini bus
  • 35 to 56 riders — motor coach

Two smaller vehicles running staggered often beats one large vehicle, because it halves the wait at the far end of the route and gives you a second option if one is off the road.

We’d rather start you slightly small and add capacity once ridership is real, than have you paying for empty seats for six months.

Are your drivers screened, and are you insured?

Every driver is employed by Jimmy’s, licensed, insured and background-checked. We do not subcontract shuttle routes to third-party operators.

We are a federally registered motor carrier, USDOT 1140836. You can verify our safety record yourself on the FMCSA’s public SAFER database. It is worth checking on any transport company you are considering. If a supplier cannot give you a DOT number, they are probably a broker rather than an operator.

Can we set up a corporate account with monthly billing?

Yes. Shuttle contracts are invoiced monthly against the agreed schedule rather than trip by trip, and you have a named contact who handles the account.

We can work to purchase order requirements and supply the documentation procurement teams generally ask for, including certificates of insurance and W-9.

How do we start a route?

Four steps: we look at your shift pattern and where your people live, propose a route and vehicle, run it, then adjust once real ridership is visible.

1. Scoping call. Shift times, headcount, where staff are travelling from, and what is going wrong today.

2. Route proposal. Pickup points, timetable, vehicle size, and pricing.

3. Launch. We recommend starting with a defined trial period. Ridership on a new route is always a guess until it runs.

4. Review and adjust. After the first few weeks, timings and stops usually need small changes. That is normal and expected, and it is built into how we set contracts up.

Who we run shuttles for

Warehouses and distribution centres, manufacturing plants, corporate campuses, hospitals and healthcare facilities, universities, and hotels running staff or guest routes.

Warehouses and distribution. The most common. Shift changes are fixed, sites are often poorly served by transit, and the labour market is tight.

Manufacturing. Third-shift coverage is the recurring problem, because it is when public transport is thinnest and staff are hardest to retain.

Corporate campuses. Park-and-ride loops and shuttles between buildings.

Hospitality. Staff routes to properties with limited parking, and guest shuttles run on the same contract model.

Moving staff every day?

Tell us your shift times, your site and roughly how many people. We will map a route and send you a proposal.
